USED CONTAINER
Our most popular container is the used general-purpose container. These containers have worked hard in the shipping industry for 5 to 15 years before they are retired.
Most of these used shipping containers will still have their original paint and markings from their shipping days. You may notice some signs of wear and tear like surface rust, dents, and scratches.
Now, they might not look great on the outside or inside, but depending on their grade, they are still strong and can serve various purposes, like transporting cargo, providing storage solutions, and more.
NEW ONE TRIP
Our brand-new One Trip shipping containers might have some small dents, dings, and scratches due to the regular handling they go through during their long ocean voyage.
These fresh shipping containers are made in Asia and then sent to our depots all over the world. To keep shipping costs low and offer our customers the best prices, we load these new containers with cargo just once. This way, we can cover the re-positioning expenses and pass those savings on to our customers.
REFURBISHED CONTAINER
Refurbished containers are previously used Wind and Water Tight (WWT) containers that have undergone some special treatment. This process involves preparing, priming, and giving them a fresh coat of paint. It’s like giving a shipping container a new lease on life and can make it last longer. We offer three levels of refurbishment for our Used Wind and Water Tight containers:
Standard refurbishment: We repaint the exterior of the container. This includes preparing and painting the outside, which involves removing loose rust with a wire wheel, spot-priming exposed metal, and painting the exterior, including the roof. We typically paint over locking rods, gaskets, and decals.
Complete refurbishment: Similar to the Standard Refurbishment, but we also paint the interior.
Factory refurbishment: This is a complete makeover for the container. It gets new interior and exterior paint, fresh gaskets, and new container markings. It’s like a brand-new container inside and out!
When it comes to used shipping containers, we carefully examine and categorize them based on several factors. These factors include their age, how sturdy they are, both inside and out, the distance they’ve traveled, any history of damage and repairs, and the weather conditions they’ve endured during storage and shipping. As you search for a container, you’ll come across the following classifications.
WIND AND WATER TIGHT
Our most sought-after grade is the Wind and Water Tight (WWT) containers. These used shipping containers come with a guarantee that they won’t leak.
While you can count on these WWT shipping containers to keep things dry, they might still have their original paint, some surface rust, dents, and scratches from their time in heavy-duty shipping service. In terms of looks, they might not win any beauty contests, but they get the job done!
CARGO WORTHY (CW)
IICL (IICL-6)
An IICL container meets the strict inspection standards established by the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) and is considered suitable for overseas shipping.
IICL containers tend to have a greater book value due to their outstanding condition. Their exterior appearance is notably better than that of a WWT container.
AS IS
An “As Is” container is a shipping container that has been inspected and determined to have significant damage that would be too expensive to repair, making it unable to achieve Wind and Watertight status.
These containers have both external and internal problems like holes, damaged flooring, and other structural issues. Generally, we do not recommend customers to purchase an “As Is” container unless they have a specific use where structural integrity and appearance are not critical.
